An Ode to El Salvador
An Art Exhibition for FDU's Hispanic Center to showcase my love for my country, El Salvador. In this exhibition, I showcased different mediums such as collage, illustration, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Each piece represents something symbolic from El Salvador.
An 11 x 17 illustrated poster was created on Procreate. In this illustrated piece, the woman in the middle represents an indigenous woman from El Salvador. Inside her basket are different flowers, the white flower representing the flower of Izotea, the national flower. Behind the woman are animals in El Salvador, with the green bird(Torogoz) being the country's National Bird. This piece represents all the beauty that El Salvador has to offer.
An 11 x 17 poster was created in Adobe Illustrator. This poster represents a massive part of Salvadorian culture: coffee. Also, something very dear to my childhood growing up in El Salvador. The mug depicts the old-fashioned ceramic coffee mugs used throughout Latin America.
An 11 x 17 Mixed-Media Collage was drawn and colored on paper, then transferred to Adobe Photoshop to add the flowers. At the bottom of the piece, there is a newspaper article that talks about the massacre of Indigenous people in my country. A Collage that showcases the beauty of the flora and Indigenous women of El Salvador while showcasing a devasting part of the history.
